National Cow Appreciation Day

Yesterday, Chick-Fil-A held it's annual, "Cow Appreciation Day."  If you partially dressed up like a cow, you got a free entree, but if you decked out in cow attire, you got a free MEAL!  Luckily, we have FOUR Chick-Fil-A's in Asheville, and even though we only ate 3 meals yesterday, we got 4 sets of free meals (we gave the last one away).
We started off at the one in the Biltmore Square Mall and took two girls from church with us.  They were beyond mortified because we were the only ones dressed like cows at this location.  After we ate breakfast we went to a place called the Health Adventure, which is in that same mall.  It's a health and science museum for children and it was super fun.
After we were finished playing I took them to a different location and we had lunch together as well.  The cow mascot was at this location and Marcus was absolutely terrified of it.  He literally jumped OUT of my arms to avoid Mr. Cow.  It was quite funny (for everyone else to watch).  I took the girls home and brought Marcus to OUR home for his nap.  Boy did he sleep well!  So well, in fact, that I had to wake him up to go get Matthew from school.
With Matthew safely at home, we met Mark back at our house & made plans for him to come eat supper with us.  He had to be dressed like a cow, too, ya know.  So we finished off his cow costume and went to the Asheville Mall location where there were a few more bovines in attendance.  We had supper together, enjoying the smiles people would give us as they noticed our white and black outfits.  When we were done, we went across the street (literally) to the walk-up outdoor Chick-Fil-A, ordered one more set of meals (since all 3 of us were dressed up, we got 3 meals again) and took it to a friend's house.
Needless to say, it was a super fun day but BOY did I eat too many calories!  I ate something different from the menu every day, but wow - I'd be ok if I didn't eat out for a month!  At least it was free, right?!  PS - Marcus obviously had chicken at every location, however he ate fruit & drank apple sauce instead of fries and soda pop (just to make you feel better).

The gloves were supposed to be hooves.

Balance Beam - wide to thin

This was Marcus' favorite station.  He could've stayed there all day.

Sliding down the tongue slide

You rolled the balls up to the top then arranged the pvc pipes so they'd come back down.  (notice the large mouth and teeth in the background).

Shopping cart - just Marcus' size

Tiffany & Jordan - never too big to play house

Our little construction worker

A view of the castle - This was a very cool place.

Tiffany made a cute little pirate!

They enjoyed pulling themselves around and around.

Since I used marker to color Marcus' shirt & it rained HARD both times in the morning, his shirt bled and got all over me.

Stop #3 for Marcus, #1 for Mark

Our "Herd"

A sweet little cow!

I love my boys!

Stop #4 - walk-up window

The things we'll do for free chicken.

Cutie Pie

We ended our day showing Marcus how this whole "eating chickens" things works.  They, however, were less than impressed with his shirt.

Beautiful sky on the way home.
